What We Found About ECoChip Fuel Saver

EcoChip, just like other fuel saver gadgets, promise more than is possible. Generally, most fuel saver devices being agressively advertised on the internet are scam. On howstuffworks, Matt Cunningham explained:

“Many so-called fuel-saving devices are simply well-packaged hoaxes that base their claims on questionable science and offer little or no change in a vehicle’s performance. In some cases, these devices can actually hurt mileage and cause engine damage.”

Matt Cunningham

Most modern cars are built to consume less fuel. Anything lesser than the manufacturers’ recommendations may ruin the car’s engine. Ecochip is one of many fake fuel saver devices claiming they will help you save money by reducing your engine’s fuel consumption. On their website, there are over a thousand fake five-star reviews.

However, when you head over to Amazon to see what real customers are saying, you will meet reviews like this one below:

“Only reason i gave it 1 star is because it wouldn’t let me give 0 stars. I bought 2, one for my truck one for my suv. After months of driving & tracking my milage before and after using this product, my gas mileage never charged on either vehicle one bit! The only thing this item is good for is draining your wallet! Don’t buy this JUNK!”

Conclusion

EcoChip is a hoax. There are many fake appliances on the internet promising untrue but attractive results. Do not buy into their false promises. The best way to improve fuel consumption in your vehicle is to maintain a well-serviced car.

  1. Ecochip is a scam. I clicked an ad for EcoChip. I went to purchase it. The price was 34.99. The transaction was declined due to “suspected fraud.” The chat agent, “Connie” said to clear my browser cache (I was using an incognito window) and to go to https://getecochip.com/offer. I did and guess what? The price jumped to 39.99! EcoChip is a bait and switch scam, with the bait and switch in the pricing. Also, EcoChip collected my credit card information and now I think I’ll just get a new card.
